Big-rig simulation video games, which can be realistic or extremely animated in style, give kids and adults alike the opportunity to live out such fantasies from the comfort of their own home. While the majority of big-rig simulation video games are available exclusively for the PC, there are a few titles that have made their way onto popular home-gaming consoles.

  1. Big Mutha Truckers

    • The "Big Mutha Truckers" franchise of video games contains two separate installments. "Big Mutha Truckers," the original installment, is available for the Sony PlayStation 2, Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS and the PC.     18 Wheels of Steel

    • The "18 Wheels of Steel" franchise features video games available exclusively for the PC. Included in the series are such titles as "Convoy," "American Long Haul," "Across America," "Pedal to the Medal" and "Extreme Trucker." Published by ValuSoft, these titles offer gamers a realistic truck-driving experience and detailed graphics.

    Flash-Based Games

    • Flash-based trucking games are available for play online. This includes "18-Wheeler Challenge," "Big-Rig Driving School," "Truck Stop Parking and "Mad Trucker 2." These titles can be played for free on any web browser that supports Flash software.

    Other Titles

    • Other PC titles in the big-rig simulation niche include "Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing," a game that takes players on a trip across the United States. "Rebel Trucker: Cajun Blood Money," which is rated "M for Mature," follows the life of a burned-out trucker and his shady employers. "Big-Rig Racing," by ValuSoft, lets gamers enter their virtual big rigs into a series of competitive races. "Big-Rig Racing" has been given a rating of "E for Everyone" by the Electronic Software Rating Board.
