Kids' Party
-
Keep the kids happy with child-friendly and fun food. Make three different menu items for kids to enjoy, basing them on the theme of the party. For example, serve hot dogs and caramel corn for a baseball-themed party or flavored popcorn for a movie-themed birthday bash. Include an interactive menu item to entertain the kids as well as fill them up; have them decorate their own cupcakes or sugar cookies. Don't' forget to have a birthday cake to complete the party's menu.
Teens' Party
-
Celebrate a teenager's birthday with a menu catering to that crowd. Prepare appetizers such as nachos, potato skins and hot wings to please the teens. Serve a main course of pizza, sliders (mini hamburgers) or sub sandwiches. Include sweet treats like chocolate fondue with fruit, marshmallows and vanilla wafers to complete the menu. Birthday cake and ice cream are also important menu staples for a teens' party. Keep in mind that teens tend to have big appetites, so quantity is important.

Fiesta Theme
-
Draw inspiration from the birthday party's theme to create a fun menu. For an adult's fiesta-inspired birthday party, create a menu full of Mexican food. Start the party off with margaritas and serve appetizers like jalapeno poppers and nachos with salsa. Provide a few different varieties of salsa, such as one green and one red. Create a build-you-own fajita station for the main course and finish off the menu with fried ice cream or churros instead of (or in addition to) a birthday cake.
Milestone
-
Make a special event of a milestone birthday, whether it is a 30th, 40th, 50th or 60th. Serve a variety of foods that guests can enjoy while mingling during the party. Finger foods such as bruschetta, cocktail shrimp and chicken drummies are likely to please guests of all ages. Prepare a large batch of punch in a citrus flavor for easy beverage planning and serving. Complete the menu with a unique birthday cake such as a cheesecake or an angle food cake with fruit topping.
