Easy Ways to Wipe Down Walls
Washing down walls is a key part of most people's spring cleaning routine. Spring is a time when you open doors and windows and clean walls. Washing walls takes times and can be a difficult process. Use a few key tips and tricks to make the process easier and more comfortable. Does this Spark an idea?

Wash From Bottom to Top
-
Many people wash their walls from the top to the bottom to avoid dirtying the area they have just cleaned with drops and splashes. While washing from bottom to top will cause dirty cleaning solution drips, drips are easier to clean from an already clean wall than from a dirty wall. If you wash from top to bottom, the cleaning solution will drip over the dirty part of the wall to clean in streaks, which will be visible when you've finished cleaning the entire wall. Thus, cleaning from bottom to top will be easier if you are attempting to have an evenly clean wall.
Dust Before You Clean
-
Dust and dry dirt is simpler to remove than liquid stains and wet dirt. If you neglect to remove the dry debris from the wall, the cleaning process will simply wet it and make it more difficult to rinse from the wall. Dust the wall from top to bottom to remove as much of the dirt as possible. Use a cloth or feather duster. Switch it out once it becomes covered in dirt and debris. Regularly dusting your walls may be all that you need to do to keep them clean.

Use Cloth Wrist Protectors
-
One of the most frustrating things about cleaning walls is that water drips down your arms and gets your clothes wet, which can make the wall cleaning process uncomfortable. Make it easier by wrapping a cloth around your wrist and securing it with a rubber band. The cloth will collect all of the cleaning solution and water and will keep your clothes dry. Alternatively, use sweat bands if you have them.
Cloths vs. Paper Towels
-
You might be tempted to use paper towels to clean or dry the wall because they absorb cleaning solution and water easily and can do a more thorough job at drying. However, not only will the job cost you at least one roll of paper towels, but it also may leave paper towel residue on the walls. If you have a bumpy wall with lots of nooks and crannies, this may cause the paper towel to break into pieces when you use it, which will leave behind bits of paper towel that can be difficult to remove. Prevent this and make the job easier by using cloths.
