Dinosaur Skeleton Crafts
Dinosaurs are a group of terrestrial reptiles that roamed the Earth for over 160 million years. The first species were small meat eaters that lived about 200 million years ago and evolved to include the largest animals that ever lived on this planet. Fascinating to both children and adults alike, learn more about dinosaurs via assorted skeleton crafts.

Toothpick Craft
-
Black construction paper and toothpicks are used to complete this dinosaur skeleton craft. Glue toothpicks on the paper to recreate pictures of assorted dinosaur skeletons, such as those of the tyrannosaurus, triceratops and brontosaurus. The toothpicks can also be used to spell out the names of the assorted dinosaurs next to a pasted on photo of a dinosaur. Writing facts about each dinosaur on pieces of paper that work well when glued against the black paper, such as yellow, pink and orange neon colors, is also an option. Dry pasta is also an option in lieu of the toothpicks.
Model Skeleton
-
Bones from beef, poultry and lamb must be collected for this project, either from leftovers or by visiting your local butcher. Three pounds of meat bones (20 pieces) and two pounds of poultry bones (40 pieces) will suffice. Use pictures of dinosaur skeletons as references for building the skeleton. The bones must be cleaned and dried before use, then glued accordingly with strong craft glue once it is figured out which bones fit together the best. Round shank bones work for the skull.

Mobile Craft
-
Trace dinosaur bones or pictures of dinosaur skeletons and attached the tracings to card stock backing. Use hole punches at the top of each ornament and markers or paint to decorate the skeleton ornaments if desired. Thread string through each ornament and attached to a mobile piece or wire hanger and place in a child's bedroom or in a classroom.
Diorama
-
Skeleton dioramas are another craft option. Twigs, bits of grass, small pebbles and other shrubbery can be used to craft the diorama background while shades of brown or green paint may also be used. Dinosaur skeleton figurines can be purchased from toy stores or online shopping sites and placed as desired around the diorama. Use craft glue to keep the skeletons secure. Skeletons can be feeding together, attacking each other or sitting on top of pebbles.
