Quake 4 Tips
The shooting game "Quake 4" challenges you to react quickly to take down opponents in a fictional war. Your tasks are made easier by knowing what keys will summon which weapons and how much damage you can do with each weapon. You can also press "CTRL," "ALT" and "~" to bring up a menu and enter codes that will let you skip ahead to new levels and gain abilities not normally available.

Abilities

Type "give item_health_mega" to increase your health score 100 points. Enter "kill" to end your character's life and start over. Type "undying" so that you can't be killed. You can still take damage, but it won't be fatal. Enter "notarget" so other players can't see you or "avidemo" to create a brief video of your game. Enter "timescale 15" to make the game run faster and "spawn vehicle_gev" to drive in a tank.
Levels

Type "convoy2" to go straight to the Aqueducts level and "convoy1" to go to the Canyon stage. Enter "network1" to get to the Data Networking Terminal and "mcc_1" to get to the level titled "Operation: Advantage." Enter "mcc_2" to get to "Operation: Last Hope" and "building_b" to get to the Perimeter Defense Station. Type "medlabs" to go to the Strogg Medical Facilities level. All of these passwords will get you right to the levels even if you haven't beaten the prerequisite stages.

Weapons

The blaster has a power score of three and must recharge before you use it again. The machine gun has a five power rating and you must find clips to refill it. The shotgun power is seven. You need to locate shells to use it again. The hyper blaster has power of seven and requires batteries. The grenade launcher has a power score of eight and the nail gun has a rating of seven. You need to find slugs to use the rail gun, a weapon with a power rating of nine. The dark matter gun has a perfect 10 power rating and uses strange energy to attack.
Quick Keys

Different keys will give you different weapons immediately once you have them in your inventory. Knowing the keys will help you switch to the right weapon faster. Hit "0" to get the dark matter gun and "1" for the standard blaster. Press "2" to use your machine gun and "3" to use the shotgun. Hit "4" to get your hyper blaster and "5" to use the grenade launcher. Type "6" for a nail gun and "7" for a rocket launcher. Enter "8" to get a rail gun and "9" for a lightning gun.
