Cute Kid Christmas Card Ideas
Christmas cards can be more than just an item that gets checked off your to-do list each holiday season. This year, make sending Christmas cards a family affair by involving your children in creating cards that are cute and which express their enthusiasm to recipients of the cards. It might take a little longer but your cards are guaranteed to be unique and to be appreciated by friends and family who receive them in their mailboxes.

Snowman Prints
-
If you moved or had your carpets cleaned this year, you can use the furniture pads placed beneath furniture legs to create snowman stamps on homemade Christmas cards; or you can buy these items at your local craft store. Buy a stack of blank cards, blue card stock paper, white, black and orange paint and a roll of double-sided tape. Paint three sizes of furniture pads with white paint and press them onto cut-out pieces of card stock to create snowman bodies. Cut out hat and carrot shapes from cardboard and paint them black and orange, respectively. Tape the hat and carrot to the piece of card stock and glue the whole thing to the front of a blank card. Use a black felt tip marker to draw eyes, arms and buttons on each snowman. Include a computer printout of a holiday update inside the card and write a short greeting such as "Merry Christmas!" or "Happy Holidays!" on the inside of the card.
3D Christmas Tree
-
With a few pieces of paper and a few snips of the scissors, you can create a unique three-dimensional Christmas card. Take two pieces of 8 1/2-inch by 11-inch card stock and fold them in half. Trim one sheet by 1/2 inch on all sides so that it measures 8 inches by 10 1/2 inches. Lay one of the papers on the table so that the folded side is on your left. Draw a tree shape on the card, which looks like a triangle with a rectangular stump beneath it. Cut out thin slots along the bottom edges of each shape. Cut a small notch at the point of the tree. Fold the paper along the remaining lines to form the diagonal tree line and vertical stump line for the tree. Glue this to the larger piece of paper and glue rhinestones or use a marker to add decorative color to the pieces of the tree that will pop out when the card is opened.

Kids' Art Cards
-
Turn your kids' art into this year's Christmas cards. Scan a few of your children's favorite drawings from the year and save the scan as a digital file -- .jpeg or .tif file -- which you can print out on photo or thicker paper from home or at your local print shop. Decide on a size for your cards, such as 5 by 7 inches. Print the artwork and cut to 2 inches smaller, such as 3 by 5 inches. Fold a piece of card stock measuring 8 by 12 inches and fold it in half. Measure a 3- by 5-inch window and cut it out of the right side of the folded paper. Tape your child's artwork so that it shows through the window and cover the back with a piece of colored card stock. Write a short greeting or message on the inside flap of the card.
Candy Cane Card
-
Use red card stock paper, white card stock and miniature candy canes to create a three-dimensional Christmas card that your recipients will enjoy reading and eating. Decide on a size for your card, such as 4 by 6 inches or 3 by 5 inches, and fold the card stock in half so that it measures that size. Cut a piece of white card stock so that it is one inch smaller on all sides than the red card stock and fold it in half as well. Unfold both pieces and glue the white paper on top of the red. Glue two candy canes on the right, front side of the white paper so that they form a heart. Write a short message on the inside of the card.
