Witch Party Ideas
Witches have long been associated with eeriness, black magic and Halloween. Parents and other party planners can turn a Halloween party or other special event for any group into a spooky witch-themed gathering with witches in everything from the invitations to the party favors. Hire a witch entertainer to regale the party group with legends and omnipotent spells. Does this Spark an idea?

Invitations
-
Cut black cardstock into witch caldron shapes and write the party details on the caldrons with glitter markers. Make miniature broomsticks from wooden dowels and straw and attach a square of cardstock with the party details. Alternatively, cut witch shapes from cardstock, decorate one side of the card with witch attire and include party details on the opposite side. Party planners can also purchase witch hats and write the party details around the brim of the hat with fabric markers.
Decorations
-
Turn the party room into a spooky witch's lair by hanging spiders on webs from the ceiling. Make a steaming caldron centerpiece for each party table with black bowls filled with chunks of dry ice. Pour hot water over the dry ice just as the party guests arrive to make the caldrons steam. Place homemade books of witch's spells randomly on the tables and change out the regular light bulbs for black lights or use only LED candlelight for the event. Party planners can also place jars around the room labeled with items that a witch would have around the lair, such as eyeballs, claws and worms.

Activities
-
Have each guest come dressed up in his best witch or warlock costume, have a spooky fashion show and award prizes for the best costume, most flamboyant costume and worst costume. Organize an obstacle course broom race but make sure there is plenty of room between the competitors to avoid injuries by broomsticks. For a group of children, have each guest make a witch's hat from black construction paper and strips of felt. For a party group of any age, work together to make a batch of sugar cookies cut in the shape of witches and decorate the cookies with icing and candies once the cookies cool.
Favors
-
For party favors, turn witch hats upside down, make two holes in the brim on opposite sides and thread a ribbon through the holes to use the hats as party-favor bags. Fill the bags with inexpensive candies or chocolates. Other party favor ideas include witch puppets, stuffed animals such as black cats, witch costumes, stickers, glow-in-the-dark necklaces or bracelets, or chocolates and candies prepared at home in witch-shaped candy molds. For an adult witch-themed party, fill witch-themed shot glasses with candies and wrap the glasses with black tulle.
