Fraternity Party Ideas
Fraternity parties get a bad reputation in the media, but the parties are traditionally about brotherhood. Men in a fraternity view the other members as brothers and the bond they share carries over into their parties. Fraternity theme party ideas are a chance to show off the organization's personality and attract other students from across campus.

Dead Celebrity Party
-
Invite guests come dressed as their favorite dead celebrity. The only stipulation is that the celebrity be someone recognizable to others. A common twist on the idea is a sexy dead celebrity party. In the sexy version of the party, guests come dressed as dead celebrities, but a sexy version of that celebrity. For example, you might have a sexy version of Abraham Lincoln, right next to a sorority sister dressed as Marilyn Monroe.
Black Light Party
-
For a black light party, turn off all the lights in the room, cover any windows with black paper and use only black lights to illuminate the party space. Use flyers to announce the fraternity party and ask each guest to wear only white colored clothing or neon colors. Under the black lights, white clothing turns a blindingly white color that is instantly noticeable and neon colors seem to glow. Those wearing dark colors, including black, almost disappear. Keep black light makeup on hand to decorate those who aren't prepared for the black light party.

Gangsters and Geeks
-
Host a fraternity party using the theme gangster and geeks. Everyone who comes to the party -- including women -- should dress like either a gangster or a geek. Gangster costumes might include a fake machine gun and pinstripe suit, while a geek costume uses short pants and horn-rimmed glasses. Couples even have the option of dressing as both characters, with the woman donning the gangster suit and the man dressing as the geek.
Wall Street Party
-
The Wall Street theme is a good fit for fraternities because the many college students attend school in the hopes of landing a job that earns them big bucks in the future. Encourage guests to come dressed as characters from the first movie or the more recent sequel from 2010. Female guests have the option of wearing more tailored suits, like stockbrokers, or dressing as a specific movie character. Award prizes to the guests wearing the most accurate costumes.
