The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum (mightyeighth.org) is a historic site that commemorates the service of an air force troop that was sent out after the World War II attack on Pearl Harbor. Several areas are available for rent including the Chapel of Fallen Eagles. This chapel resembles an English chapel and features manicured gardens, stained-glass windows and seating for up to 100 guests. Affordable reception rooms are also available, such as The Pub, which is fashioned after a British pub and seats up to 60 guests and includes antique furnishings. Rentals after 4:30 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday cost $400 in 2011. Another option is the museum's art gallery that features Air Force pictures, parquet floors and open space for up to 150 guests. Rental for half a day is $550 in 2011.

Covered picnic areas are available at Pooler Park (poolerrec.com). Picnic tables can't be reserved, but they are free to use on a first-come, first-served basis. Have a few members of your bridal party arrive before the reception and set up the picnic areas. Playgrounds are nearby so the kids will have free entertainment.

A Saturday event must include a minimum of $3,500, but this figure represents the cost of your site rental, food and beverages.
