Beauty Tips & Tricks to Hide Frown Lines

Beauty Tips & Tricks to Hide Frown Lines thumbnail
Frown lines can be caused from tension and stress.

Frown lines are those pesky little wrinkles that appear over time between the eyes and on the forehead above the eyebrows. They occur as a person gets older and can be caused by stress and tension. There are a variety of ways to treat these wrinkles including many over-the-counter beauty products, products prescribed by a dermatologist and also some simple home remedies that can help diminish the appearance of frown lines. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Exfoliation Products

    • Exfoliation products can be purchased over the counter at most health and beauty stores, at some pharmacies and also in some department stores in the skin-care department. They work by revitalizing the muscles of your face and tightening the area around the eyebrows and forehead. You can also make up your own exfoliation ointment by combining one part olive oil with one part sea-salt, mixed together in a container. Scrub your face with the mixture until the salt dissolves, then rinse with warm water and pat dry.

    Facial Exercises

    • Facial exercises can help to minimize the appearance of frown lines by improving muscle control in the face and strengthening weak facial muscles. These exercises should be performed daily for a month, then weekly until you achieve the results you are looking for. The exercises are simple and include crinkling your nose as much as possible while bringing your eyebrows downward. Wait a few seconds, release and repeat five times. Another exercise includes furrowing your eyebrows towards each-other, hold for a few seconds, and release. Repeat this exercise five times.

    Chemical Peel

    • A chemical peel is another way to reduce frown lines. A dermatologist or skin care professional can perform the procedure for you by applying chemicals to your face which react with the outer layers of skin and burn away the lines. Once your skin heals, the frown lines are far less visible. You may need to have the process repeated more than once to achieve the desired results.

    Botox

    • Botox is quite commonly used to reduce the visibility of frown lines and wrinkles. It is injected directly into the frown line area and paralyzes the muscles. The skin in the area where Botox is injected appears completely smooth. However, Botox is only temporary so you need to receive injections every four to six months to maintain the look.
