Whether your child is graduating from high school or college, mark the occasion with a party following the ceremony. You and the guest of honor do not have to settle for a simple and uneventful graduation party. Instead, host a party that highlights the graduate's past, details his future plans or acts as a "thank you" to important people in his life. School lock-ins have become a popular alternative for afterschool events such as the prom and graduation. The party typically lasts from post-graduation to post-breakfast the following morning. There are activities, such as board games and crafts, for students to participate in. A lock-in can take place at school as well as at your home.
