  1. Engine

    • The Toro Z5000 is equipped with a 21 horsepower Kohler "Courage" twin-cam overhead valve engine. The engine features full-pressure lubrication with a spin-on oil filter. The engine is encased in a cast-iron cylinder liner with a dual-element air cleaner. The mower is capable of reaching seven miles per hour in forward and 3.4 mph in reverse.

    Mowing Capabilities and Fuel Capacity

    • The Z5000 will cut grass in lengths ranging from 1.5 to 4.5 inches. Adjustments are available in half-inch increments. Its 50-inch mowing deck allows you to mow a 50-inch swath. The mower's three-gallon fuel capacity allows for extended usage. The mower's translucent gas tank makes knowing when to fill up easier by physically showing the fuel level in the tank. The Z5000 dashboard does not have a fuel gauge.

    Dimensions

    • The Toro Z5000 is 73.1 inches long and 40.3 inches high. Its width is either 63 inches with the deflector unengaged or 53.5 inches with the deflector engaged, or in the "up" position. The seat is an adjustable 18-inch extra-tall cushioned seat with optional armrests. The seating area also include a cup holder and toolbox. The tires are smooth to allow for minimum turf wear; they measure 10 inches in diameter.

    Dual Hydrostatic Drive System

    • An independent hydrostatic drive system improves maneuverability and allows for zero-turn capabilities. The independent drive pieces are attached to a steel uni-body frame that is meant to provide stability and improve the life of the tractor. The rear bumper is made of cast iron to protect the tractor around tight spaces and in the event you bump your tractor into a fence, tree or shed.
