A Big Camping Supply List
A big camping supply list is necessary for large groups. The list may seem overwhelming to the individual, but it is manageable when divided into sections. Each section may be managed by different individuals in the group to evenly distribute the responsibility and workload. Camping in groups requires an organized approach to ensure the trip runs smoothly.

Cooking
-
Cooking is the most complex issue for big camping groups. Bring a plate, bowl and utensils for each camper. Also, bring large pots and pans for large portions. A big skillet handles the majority of the cooking, but a boiling pot for stew and a dutch oven are great for cooking large meals. Also, bring large portions of food for the group. Fillers like biscuits, pasta, chili and stew are excellent for large groups. Use a fire for some of the cooking and bring a large propane or charcoal grill with fuel, lighter fluid and matches. Plan for dessert and bring skewers for marshmallows and graham crackers and chocolate for s'mores.
Shelter and Sleeping
-
Shelter for big groups is accomplished with some large facilities or numerous small facilities. Large tents or tarps for outdoor sleeping are ideal for the groups. Small shelters are a viable option if each camper is responsible for their own tent. You also must have a sleeping bag for each camper, and a sleeping pad is optional to add comfort. The sleeping bag must be warm enough to handle the coldest conditions you encounter.

Entertainment and Furniture
-
Entertainment is an important aspect of group camping. Bring playing cards, cribbage boards, bocce ball, horseshoes and volleyball sets to provide entertainment. You also must have folding chairs and roll out tables for the camping area. Screened tents and gazebos are also effective for providing shade and protection from insects.
Camp Supplies
-
The camping supplies list is large for groups. Bring extra rain gear, fire starters, a hatchet or axe, tent repair kit, water purification, water storage containers, trash bags, ice chests, extra toiletries, first aid kit, flashlights, sunscreen and insect repellent. Bring along emergency whistles for each camper and either use an existing outhouse or portable toilets to accommodate the group with added large amounts of waste to the environment.
