Candy molds, which can be purchased in cooking shops and hobby stores, come in many shapes for just about every holiday and occasion. They are very versatile, simple to use, and can be used for many different types of projects. Show your creativity by using candy molds in a variety of ways. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Chocolate Candy

    • Use candy molds to make chocolates in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Purchase candy melts in different flavors at craft stores and melt them to make chocolate or other flavored candy shapes. These candies make delicious and decorative additions to parties, weddings, showers or holiday dinners and buffets. You can even add special candy coloring to create colored candy to complement a party theme. Make up bags of chocolate candies and give them as gifts to friends, neighbors and teachers.

    Lollipops

    • Make lollipops in candy molds. It may seem intimidating to make your own lollipops, but with the candy molds it is quite easy. You can find many recipes online. Customize homemade lollipops with flavorings and colors. Stick a homemade lollipop in with a present, surprise your kids with a batch of their favorite flavor, or make cookie lollipops by shaping cookie dough into candy molds, popping the shapes out and placing them on lollipop sticks and baking.

    Soap

    • Buy some melt-and-pour glycerin soap at a craft store and add the essential oil fragrance of your choice. Pour the soap mixture into pretty candy molds to make small, scented soaps that will look beautiful in your bathroom, or make a lovely gift wrapped up in a box along with some nice towels or washcloths. Use holiday molds to make Christmas soaps for guests to use during the season, or match soaps to your bathroom theme, such as seashell-shaped molds for a beach-themed bathroom.

    Candles

    • Make shaped candle tarts in candy molds. Melt down old scented candles, carefully pour the hot wax into the molds and let it cool. Leave the candle tarts in drawers to scent them, or place a group of candles into a bowl and leave them out to scent the room. You can cut small wicks to put in the candles if you want to burn them or use them as floating candles in vases.

    Gelatin

    • Molded gelatin jigglers are usually a hit with kids. Mix up gelatin according to product instructions and pour it into the molds. Refrigerate until the jigglers are set. Kids will love to grab these small snacks to chill out on a hot day. Jigglers can be made in any flavor and color, and will add some fun to spring or summer.
