Candy Dress Up Ideas
Candy-inspired costumes are a great idea for themed parties. They make amazing Halloween costumes too, because they blend the tradition of candy giving with dressing up. These costumes can be easy to create. Most types of candy and their brands are well known, so the costumes will not only be cute, but also easy to identify.

M&Ms and Skittles
-
These two well known candies are similar in shape and coloring. They are simple in design and can be worn as a group costume idea, each person can take a different color. M&Ms also have characters for red, yellow, green and orange. They have become popular through television commercials. This can also help expand the different styles of M&M costumes to choose from. You can purchase the costumes or make them from felt material cut into two circular shapes and then sewn together. Complete the look with a sewn-on felt letter "M" or "S."
Hershey Kiss
-
The Hershey Kiss is a fun costume and easy to identify. For a chocolate-themed party, parents can be dressed like a Hershey bar, while children can dress like little Hershey Kisses. More than one person can wear the costume. The costume has a distinct shape, with a head piece that connects to the signature white tag, which says "Hershey's." The costume will be undeniable. You can create a Hershey Kiss costume with simple items like duck tape, tin foil, toilet paper, clothes hangers, scissors and a blue marker.

Candy Buttons
-
Candy Buttons are an iconic sugary treat. They are the pink, blue and yellow colored dots on the long white sheets of paper. In 2010 Katy Perry wore a Candy Button costume in her California Girls music video. You can easily achieve the look by wearing a white dress or white jumper. Cut bright pink, blue and yellow circles out and glue or sew them onto the dress. Candy Buttons have three "buttons" per row.
Chocolate Bars
-
Like the Hershey Kiss, Hershey chocolate bars are just as known. They are also just as easy to create. Instead of cutting brown felt into circles, try a rectangle and then sewing two of them together. Add letters to spell out "Hershey's." There are so many other types of candy bars as well. The theme can be chocolate, and each person can dress up as a different type. For example yellow and orange felt with brow circles can easily create Reese's, gold and red can become Twix. Costumes have to be imaginative, not expensive.
