The Best Team Fundraising Ideas
Most teams, athletic or academic, have at least one annual fundraiser to raise money and gain support throughout the community. An important aspect of raising the most money is choosing a fundraising idea that will attract the most people while still being fun for the members of your team. By having a fun fundraiser, such as a team car wash, benefit night, butler auction or tabling, your team can expect to raise a lot more money.

Team Car Wash
-
One of the most classic fundraising ideas is to have a team car wash. Talk to a local car wash facility or parking lot owner about holding your event at their establishment. Try to find a location that is next to a busy road and can be seen by many people over the course of the day. Offer to wash cars for a minimal fee that will go toward your team's annual budget. Attract people by posting flyers and holding signs that explain what the fundraising event is for. This is a great spring or summer fundraising idea.
Benefit Night
-
Let your team organize and host a party at a local dining establishment. You can either charge guests as they enter the premises or ask the owner of the establishment if he is willing to donate a percentage of the total sales to your team. This can be a multiple night or even week-long event. Attract as many people as you can by talking about the great food, deserts or atmosphere at that restaurant.

Butler Auction
-
A butler auction is always fun for the members of your team and their friends and family. Let people volunteer to be auctioned off as butlers for the day. Then, let their friends and family bid on each person one at a time. Due to the competitive nature of an auction, the bids can get very high.
Tabling
-
One of the most popular ways to raise awareness and ask for donations is by tabling at a popular business in your city. After talking with the owners of the business, set up a table out front with signs advocating for your team and explaining why you need to raise money. Talk to people walking in and out of the business and try to convince them to donate some money. You can even try giving out small gifts, such as ribbons or bracelets, to all the people who donate to your team. This is a great way to spend time with your teammates and meet a lot of new people in your community.
