Easy Ways to Clean the Kitchen Floor
Kitchen floors are often overlooked in your kitchen cleaning routine. Often this is because cleaning the kitchen floor can be a difficult undertaking that can take significantly longer than wiping down counters or splashboards. Choose easy methods to clean floors to remove bacteria and viruses that might be growing. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Vacuum
-
Vacuuming floors is one of the quickest ways to remove surface dust and debris. Adjust the vacuum so that it will clean bare floors. If your vacuum is not adjustable, it likely was designed just for use on carpets or rugs and may not be effective at cleaning kitchen floors.
Microfiber Cloth
-
Use a microfiber mop to remove bacteria and other contaminates from the surface of the kitchen floor. Choose a microfiber mop that you can wet slightly. Push the mop over the floor. Change the microfiber pad when it becomes covered in dirt and debris. Never soak the mop as it will make the floor overly wet, which will take longer to clean.

Damp Sweeping
-
Sweeping a floor is essential to keeping it clean and pristine. One way to enhance the broom's ability to remove very small particles is by dampening the bristles. To do this, run the broom under clear water. Knock the broom head against the sink several times to remove as much of the water as possible so that the broom is just slightly damp. Sweep the floor as normal, and rinse the broom thoroughly when you are finished.
Newspaper
-
One of the issues with cleaning kitchen floors is that dry particles will swirl up into the air, which prevents you from removing them and causes them to eventually settle back onto the floor. Prevent this by tearing a sheet of newspaper into small pieces. Wet the pieces with water, and sprinkle them over the entire kitchen floor, which will slightly dampen the floor so that you can sweep up dust and debris.
