South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault

The coalition includes all shelters and centers across the state. The South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault oversees all domestic violence shelters and rape crisis centers in South Carolina. The coalition works to raise awareness of the severity of domestic violence, as well as to support measures that get victims of domestic violence the help they need. The coalition also sponsors events on how to respond to domestic violence, such as the 2011 Sexual Assault Summit.

Sistercare provides services for domestic violence victims and their children. Sistercare is a coalition member that serves the counties of the South Carolina midlands. Sistercare services for battered women and their children include counseling, emergency shelters and transitional housing. Sistercare can also find professional legal services for domestic violence victims.

Safe Harbor helps victims start a new life. Safe Harbor is a coalition member serving counties in upstate South Carolina. The Safe Harbor website states: "When you have nowhere else to go, you can feel safe here with us. You can begin to heal and we'll give you the help you need to start a new life." Services include emergency shelter, counseling and legal advocacy.
My Sister's House

My Sister's House provides help for women and children. My Sister's House serves domestic violence victims in the low country portion of South Carolina. The center seeks to help and empower battered women and their children. My Sister's House has a program designed specifically for children that provides educational and therapeutic activities. The center's shelter program also offers women parenting and living skills classes.
