Make crafts with store-bought candy.

Use store-bought candy and basic craft supplies to make Valentine's Day crafts for your friends. Choose from a variety of store-bought candy, such as smarties, chocolates and conversation hearts, and turn ordinary treats into homemade Valentine's Day crafts for your party or to hand out to friends.

  1. Rocket Candy Card

    • Store-bought candy and craft supplies such as construction paper, scissors and tape, are used to make a rocket candy card with a message for your Valentine. This card requires a roll of round hard candies and chocolate kisses. Cut a square piece of colored construction paper to fit around the hard candy roll and tape it into place. Cut another color of construction paper, such as red or pink, into the shape of flames, and include a 1/4 inch tab on one end. Cut the tab in half and fold the flaps in opposite directions. Tape the tab end of the flames to one end of the candy roll. Tape the chocolate kiss to the other end of the candy roll and write a message on either the front of the rocket or the flames.

    A Sweet Shovel

    • Turn an ordinary plastic shovel into a Valentine's Day craft that includes a message to your Valentine and a bag of candies. Choose a small plastic shovel from a party supply or retail store. Purchase a small bag of any candy you think the recipient will prefer, along with a pink or red ribbon. Tie the bag of candy to the shovel handle with the ribbon. On the bottom of the shovel, write your message using a white paint pen.

    Rock Candy

    • With a box of conversation hearts, two mini peanut butter cups and some basic craft supplies, create a Valentine's craft that appears to be an MP3 player with a set of earbuds. Wrap the peanut butter cups with aluminum foil and wrap a piece of pink construction paper around the box of conversation hearts; glue to secure. Cut two 14-inch pieces of string and tape one end of each string to a different peanut butter cup. Tape the other ends of the strings to the top of the box of conversation hearts. Cut the front pieces of the MP3 player, such as the scroll wheel and screen, from white construction paper. With a black pen, draw the arrows on the scroll wheel and write in a message to your Valentine on the screen.

    Candy Holder

    • Create a candy holder and recycle an old baby food jar for this craft. Gather together a baby food jar which has been washed, rinsed and dried; a paintbrush; pink and red craft paint and candy. Paint the lid of the jar with the pink paint and let it dry. After the paint is dry, paint tiny hearts on the lid with the red paint, and on the jar with red and pink paint. Once the paint is dry, fill the jar with your choice of Valentine candy.
