Background
-
Plain slides of black text on a white background may look bland and boring. Adding a background will make your slides more creative. Click "Format" and "Slide Design" and select the design you want. If you do not like the design, change it to another, even if the presentation is already complete.
Importing Files
-
Incorporate charts and other files from Excel. Select the "Insert" menu, "Object" and "Create from file." Browse for the file that you need and click "OK." If you want to insert other existing slides into your current file, click on the part where you want to insert the other slide presentation. Click "Insert" and "Slide from other files." Browse for the file that you need, click "Open" and "Insert."

Saving a Presentation as a Web Page
-
Open the PowerPoint file and select "File" and "Save as Webpage." Type a file name and select the location where you want the file saved. Hit the "Publish" button and select "Complete Presentation." Select the range of slides that you want published and click "All browsers listed above (create larger files)." Click the "Publish" button again.
Reducing the PowerPoint File Size
-
Compressing the images in your file can significantly reduce the size of the file. Right-click on a picture, Click "Format," "Picture" and "Compress." If you want to compress all the pictures in the document, click "All pictures in document" under "Apply to." To compress only one picture, click "Selected Pictures." Under "Change Resolution," select the purpose of the file, whether it is for Web/screen viewing or printing. Select the check box for "Compress Pictures" under "Options" and "Delete cropped areas of pictures." Click "OK" and "Apply." Whenever you incorporate pictures to your slide by copying and pasting them, the program creates embedded elements in the file, making the file size bigger than it should be. Instead of copying and pasting documents, click "Insert," "Picture" and "From file" to browse for pictures.
