Surprise your children by filling their room with various birthday decorations while they are at school. Blow up balloons and use streamers and create a birthday sign to place on their door. This is an exciting thing for a child to come home to and something they definitely won't expect. It will make them feel special when they walk in to see a festive birthday room. Also, the family can decorate the room together, which makes it fun and even more thoughtful since it is a surprise from everyone.

Depending on your child, this may be her favorite restaurant, a baseball game, a video arcade, a dance studio, a movie theater or a park.
