Birthday Basket & Graduation Gift Ideas
Give a birthday gift basket to a graduate who just happens to celebrate her birthday around the time of graduation. Make sure the graduate knows that the gift honors her graduation and birthday. You can do this by featuring more than one item in the basket and using graduation embellishments as decoration. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Glimpse of the Future
-
Create a birthday graduation basket with a "glimpse of the future" theme for the new graduate. Find a picnic-style or wicker basket and fill it with items that can help guide the graduate and possibly peak his interests about travel or things he would like to do with his future. Buy a traveler's journal, compass, travel-style picture frame, map of Oregon or California and a book about culture. Include other items that you think might give the graduate ideas about life and what is ahead of him. Make homemade birthday cupcakes to include in this basket as well, but put the cupcakes in a box, so that none of the frosting gets on any of the other items. Place a stuffed frog wearing a graduation cap in the middle of the basket just for fun. Tie ribbons around the handle that match his cap and gown school colors.
Wine and Fruit Basket
-
Give a wine and fruit basket to a college graduate who enjoys a good bottle of wine. This basket doesn't work for younger graduates who are not over the age of 21. Buy a wicker basket and fill with wine and fruit such as wrapped blueberries, grapes and pineapple. Include a teddy bear wearing a graduation cap and gown as an added graduation gift and tie a pink or blue birthday balloon around the handle as well.

Stress Relief Basket
-
Give the person graduating a stress-relief basket to help her cope with the challenges that come after graduation. Fill a wicker basket full of spa items such as bath salts, bath beads, body oils, hand-held massage tools, soaps and lotions. Include a card that says why you gave her these items for her birthday and graduation. Decorate the handle of the basket with birthday balloons and colorful ribbons.
Cookie Basket
-
Make birthday cookies and present these in a gift basket for the new graduate. Make peanut butter, chocolate chip and sugar cookies. Place these in boxes and put them in the basket. Decorate the outside of the boxes with cap and gown stickers, then tie a red ribbon around each box. Include other gifts in the basket such as a graduation picture frame or achievement plaque for the grad.
