Cheese and Tomato Tart

You can spice up ready-made puff pastry from your supermarket by making a cheese and tomato tart. Roll out the puff pastry and spread a layer of store-bought marinara sauce over the pastry, but leave a gap at the edges. Top with torn mozzarella cheese and bake until golden brown. When cooled, cut into small squares and garnish with basil.
Tapas

Have a Spanish themed party and make tapas. Serve large bowls of hummus with triangles of warm pitta bread. Skewer chunks of vegetables such as zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes and mushrooms and grill them until them until they are tender. Serve the vegetables on a bed of baby leaf salad. Make a Spanish omelette by adding chopped onion, sliced potato, red pepper and chorizo sausage to six beaten eggs. Heat some oil in a frying pan and add the egg mixture. Cook until golden the mixture is golden.

For an elegant and sophisticated gathering, opt for a traditional English afternoon tea. Serve delicate finger sandwiches with traditional English fillings, such as egg mayonnaise, cucumber and smoked salmon. For the refined touch, cut off the crusts. Traditional English scones can be served with lashings of clotted cream and strawberry jelly. On a cake stand serve a selection of fresh cream cakes and brightly colored cupcakes.
50s American Diner Food

Recreate the days of the sock hop and the drive-thru with a 50s-inspired buffet for your guests. Serve miniature hot dogs and burgers for a twist on the classic diner fare. Season French fries with cumin and chili powder. For a sweet finger food option, cut up waffles and garnish them with fresh fruit such as chopped bananas and strawberries.
