Teen Slumber Party Ideas
Do not let the name fool you; generally, slumber parties emphasize the party aspect more than slumber. Slumber parties are increasingly popular because they allow teens to bond with their friends and meet in a setting that is different than school or during extracurricular activities. Several games can make the evening exciting for everyone involved while getting to know each other a bit better in the process. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Truth or Dare
-
An old favorite that is easy to play. Participants take turns and chose between answering truthfully to whatever question they're asked, or performing a dare. The game can get a bit risqué, so a good idea is to establish some ground rules as to what questions are off limit so no one gets hurt or offended.
Watching a Movie
-
Though it can be a challenge to pick the movie that everyone agrees upon, this certainly is a longtime favorite. It can be a movie that makes you think, makes you emotional, or is so bad that it is more fun to comment on it with friends than watch it alone.
-
Would You Rather
-
A game to decide what you would pick if you absolutely had to pick. The participant gets two choices, be they standard, gross or simply embarrassing, and has to pick between them. An example could be, "Would you rather dance in front of the class for five minutes with everyone watching, or give a presentation in front of the entire class?"
Food and Snacks
-
Aside from meeting with friends, a slumber party is the perfect excuse to binge out on some of your favorite food. Because sleep tends to come very late (if at all) you find that hunger will eventually rear its head. Pizza is a longtime favorite, but just because you are scrimping on sleep does not mean you have to on nutritional value. Vegetables and dip, some cheese and crackers and fruit is a good idea to keep the stomach full with healthy options. Of course, in the morning when the party is over, a good healthy breakfast is a great way to close out a successful slumber party.
