Bulletin Board Ideas for the Road to Success
Eye-catching bulletin boards are a part of most school classrooms, and are used as learning or motivational tools as well as for holiday displays. Many teachers prefer to change their bulletin boards every month or so while others like to keep at least one bulletin board that remains the same throughout the year. A "road to success" bulletin board is used to inspire the children to think about their futures in a broader fashion.

U.S. Road Map
-
Use road maps of the United States as backgrounds for a "road to success" bulletin board. Create a black road that winds all around the map background using construction paper, and use die cut-outs to make cars, trucks and tractor-trailers that travel along the road. Make road sign cut-outs for displaying motivational sayings, such as "Leaders This Way" with pointing arrows, "Follow Your Dreams," "Risk Takers Straight Ahead" and "Think About Your Goals, Not Your Limitations."
Modes of Transportation
-
A large brown suitcase shape works as the background for a "road to success" bulletin board featuring assorted modes of transportation. Utilize the many varieties of transportation to enforce the idea that there are many paths to success and students must find the way that best utilizes their own strengths. Make die or construction paper cut-outs of trains, planes, trucks, boats, cars, bicycles, buses and scooters to decorate the board. Write pieces of a motivational phrase or saying on the cut-outs and place them in order on the board.

Countries
-
Find a map of the world or use a blue construction paper background with the continents cut out and pasted onto it as a background for this "road to success" board idea. This board gets the children to think about their paths to success on a global scale, such as working in another country or a job that requires travel. Write fun facts about each country, including job information, on square pieces of construction paper. Make the bulletin board three-dimensional by stapling items representing each country, such as small flags, to the board.
Walking Path
-
Though many "road to success" bulletin board ideas feature images of roads, highways or train tracks, break from the mold and construct a bulletin board using a "walking path." Make stepping stones and paths out of construction paper. Add colored sand to give the path some texture. Print out or draw cartoon images of students and paste your students' school yearbook pictures on the bodies. Put them all on the board, walking down the road to success. Tack up thought bubbles next to each student with motivational sayings or job possibilities. This bulletin board idea may also go the eco-friendly route as it can discuss paths to success that do not harm the environment.
