When a person returns home, a welcome home gift basket is a pleasant surprise. Gift baskets are easily personalized and can be created to fill some immediate needs or wants of the person who has returned. Food, treats and colorful plants are all good choices in planning a gift basket that says "welcome home."
For anyone who is returning home, a welcomed gift would be a basket of basic groceries. This will save him a trip to the grocery store until he is rested. The basket could include jars of homemade soup and a loaf of bread which could be used for an easy lunch or dinner. A pound of cheese and deli meat would give the person the makings of a sandwich. Milk, butter and some orange juice would stock his fridge with the necessary items that would last for a couple of days.
Chocolates and Wine
A bottle of sweet wine placed on one side of the basket with boxed chocolates on the other makes a cheerful coming home gift. Add a small flower arrangement or a potted plant. Wrap the basket in cellophane with a ribbon attached to the top.
A desert gift basket would please anyone with a sweet tooth. Fill a basket with bags of cookies or brownies, either homemade or from a bakery. To make a nice presentation, wrap small batches in cellophane gift bags before arranging them in the basket. Tuck some colorful individually wrapped chocolates around the bags of cookies. Wrap the entire basket with cellophane and tie the top with ribbons. Attach a Mylar balloon with a welcome home message printed in it to the gift.
A basket filled with fine produce makes a wonderful welcome home gift basket. Have your local grocery store make the basket or do it yourself. Some suggestions for fruit would be red delicious apples, pears, oranges and pineapple. Added to the fruit could be wedges of cheese and cans of nuts. This makes a visually appealing gift as well as a delicious gift that would be enjoyed when she arrives home.
