Forensic Investigation Games
Ever since the television franchise "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" debuted in the Fall of 2000, the general populace has become interested in forensic science. This is very true of the criminal investigation side of the forensic science, as it provides an interesting prospective as to how scientists solve murders. If you want to take the role of an individual using forensic science to solve crimes, there are a variety of video games available for you to live out your fantasy.

CSI: 3 Dimensions of Murder
-
"CSI: 3 Dimensions of Murder" is the first game in the "CSI" franchise of games developed by Telltale Games. You are a new recruit at the Las Vegas Crime Scene Investigation unit and are teamed up with a member of the cast at the beginning of each case. As you play through the cases, you must gather evidence: fingerprints, samples of blood, hair and clothing, etc. The game is rather short, but if you want to feel just like you are on the show this game will suffice.
Condemned: Criminal Origins
-
"Condemned: Criminal Origins" for the Xbox 360 places you into the role of FBI agent Ethan Thomas, who is investigating a murder at the beginning of the game. One thing leads to another, and you are accused of killing two FBI agents. As a result, you must find the real killer and bring him to justice. While there is an emphasis on combat, there are aspects of the game where you must use forensic science to progress through the game. Ultraviolet and laser lights, 3D scanners, Gas Spectrometers and other tools are available for you to collect evidence in order to find leads to where your character must go.

CSI: Fatal Conspiracy
-
"CSI: Fatal Conspiracy" for the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii provides five cases for players to solve as they work alongside the personalities that make up the original "CSI" television show. Players will have to search for clues by means of DNA matching, fingerprint matching, and other evidence-collecting techniques. While the game may appear easy to those who have experience in adventure games, non-gamers and fans of the television show alike will still find appeal in it.
Dexter: Fast Forensics
-
"Dexter: Fast Forensics" is a Flash game based on the popular television series "Dexter." Players take the role as a blank character (you have no name or identity -- essentially, you are the main character) and have approximately two minutes to find evidence via a camera and document it before a suspected serial killer (not a character in the show) arrives and catches you in the act. If you want a quick and suspenseful game about forensics, "Dexter: Fast Forensics" is ideal.
