Wedding Prayers Before a Meal
A prayer said before or after eating a meal is known as "grace." Traditionally, saying grace is a way of giving thanks to God for the food about to be eaten, following a prayer that all those present at the table are blessed. It is common practice at a wedding meal for the pastor to bless the new couple in their marriage within the prayer; this is done before or after the food has been eaten. There are many kinds of prayers and blessings to choose from, so the bride and groom may wish to find one suiting their religious beliefs. Wedding prayers can be read from a religious book by a clergyman, written and spoken by family or friends, or even made up on the spot by the couple themselves.

Happiness
-
Every bride and groom wishes for a happy marriage, and this is something that could be written into the wedding prayers. The coming together of two people who wish to share their lives until the day they die is a big commitment, full of ups and downs. Asking that the couple be blessed with happiness and that their lives are enriched and enjoyed to the full is a commonly used prayer.
Success
-
For career-minded couples, or couples that are invested in endeavors pertaining to achieving their goals, success is a good blessing to pray for. The newly married couple could be working hard within their jobs to gain a promotion, which could make their married lives more comfortable. Therefore, a blessing of success would be a suitable prayer to read.

Fidelity
-
The word "fidelity" derives from the Latin word meaning faithful or loyal. In today's society, a high rate of divorce and separation is the result of partners who cheat on one another, breaking the sacred bond of trust and respect. Honoring the union of marriage is paramount if the newlyweds intend to remain together indefinitely. Prayers of fidelity underline the necessity for this pact to be sealed with the utmost belief.
Fertility
-
Some newlyweds may wish to start a family as soon as they can after being married, but not all couples are fortunate enough to bear children naturally. If the bride and groom are thinking about trying for a baby, then including a blessing of fertility in the wedding grace is a nice idea. It is always best to check with the couple first to avoid embarrassment.
