Be charitable to women in need.

Helping those who are less fortunate than you is a rewarding experience. Learn what free charitable gifts you can give to women. Everyone has different wants and needs, and you have the power to help some of those women. There are certain items that you have access to that a woman would really appreciate. Look around your house, and you will find many things to donate.

  1. Time

    • Give a piece of yourself. Donating your time to a women's shelter is a way to give a free charitable gift. Go volunteer to serve meals at a women's resource center. Women centers are places where women go to feel safe. They live there for short periods of time. These are places that help women get back on their feet. Help mentor a woman in need of career advice. At the shelters, women get help finding jobs.

    Clothes

    • Take a look in your closet. Donating your used clothes to a woman is a free charitable gift. Take your clothes to your local thrift store, women's shelter or church. These are places where women in need go to look for suitable clothes. Your gift of charitable clothes will give another woman something to wear to a job interview or just something to wear, period. Your old jacket will keep a struggling mom from being cold in the winter.

    Food

    • Look in your kitchen cabinet. Give away some of your extra food. There are non-perishable foods that you have in your cupboard that you do not plan to use. Give those foods away to women who cannot afford groceries. Your extra unused food will keep a woman from going hungry.

    Houseware

    • Clean out your garage. Go to the local women's shelter and donate your used books, furniture and dishes. Many women who are in shelters come from battered homes. Those women have to start their lives over, which includes refurnishing their new residences. Your used items are great charitable gifts to help women in need. Donate any extra hygiene products you have, such as toothpaste, soap and sanitary pads.
