Cat, a brand owned by Caterpillar, is a large company that produces and provides earth-moving products and services. Established as an independent company in the 1980s, Cat manufactures many types of equipment, including articulated trucks, forest machines, compactors, skidders and material handlers. Cat's backhoe loaders feature spacious cabs, ergonomic joystick controls, travel speeds of up to 25 miles per hour and attachments like hammers, augers and compactors. The 420E and 420E IT models are 93-horsepower loaders that weigh 24,251 lbs. and have a dig depth of 14.3 feet. The 430E and 430E IT loaders are 102-horsepower models that weigh 24,251 lbs. and have a dig depth of 15.41 feet. The 416E, at 87 horsepower, digs 14.3 feet and weighs 22,466 lbs.
Compact Track and Multi Terrain Loaders
The company's line of multi terrain loaders range in horsepower from 56 to 90. These models feature low ground pressure, which allows them to work in many places. These loaders have a rated operating capacity of 2,150 to 4,200 lbs. at 50 percent tipping load and 1,505 to 3,005 lbs. at 35 percent tipping load. Cat's compact track loaders feature steel undercarriages and embedded tracks. These models range in horsepower from 71 to 90. The rated operating capacity at 50 percent tipping load is 2,950 to 4,150 lbs., and at 35 percent tipping load is 2,065 to 2,905 lbs.
Cat's 414E IL industrial model is an 89-horsepower loader with a dump height of 8.7 feet and a 5,453 lbs. lift capacity at full height. This loader features a suspension seat and spacious cab, a seat-mounted rear joystick controller, an integrated three-point tool carrier, a strong bucket breakout force and a roading speed of up to 25 miles per hour. The Ride Control System, which is optional, provides a smooth ride, and the 414E IL has hitch functions such as float, lift and tilt.
Cat produces two varieties of knuckleboom loaders. The trailer mount models are built to handle difficult logging jobs and have a gross horsepower of 156 to 173. The knuckleboom length of these loaders varies from 27 to 32.5 feet and the operating weight reaches between 19,099 and 34,000 lbs. The company's stationary mount knuckleboom loaders are intended for industrial and mill yard uses. With a gross horsepower of 75 to 100, these models have knucklebooms that reach to between 27 and 32.5 feet in length. The operating weight of these loaders ranges from 15,315 to 19,145 lbs.
