With the on-going rising cost of health insurance and prescription costs, some pharmacies have implemented $4.00 costs for a 30-day supply of certain generic medications. These $4.00 incentives are for those who have little or no prescription coverage or insurance. Generic medication, in most cases, is extremely close to the name brand, as far as the ingredients found in the drug. These programs make it possible for those struggling to pay for the medication to access them.

Walmart

Wal-mart pharmacy offers a prescription program ,which includes generic medication for $4.00 or less. A 30-day supply of the medication is available for patients without insurance and may be available for less than $4.00 for those who have a prescription plan. Medications available include prescriptions for antibiotics, arthritis, asthma, heart health, gastrointestinal, mental health, allergies, laxatives, pain relievers, sleeping aides, back pain, eye care, vitamins and weight loss. The generic brands are compared to the name brand for the $4.00 prescription medications.
