Open Head Wrap
-
To make a head wrap, fold the bandana once in half, forming a triangle. Place the straight edge of the bandana on your forehead -- at a point that suits you -- and pull the corners behind your head. Tie the corner edges in a knot. If you have long hair, tying it in a mid- to low ponytail before putting on the bandana will prevent snags. As you wear the bandana throughout the day, adjust the fit as needed. This style will protect your hair while working out or spending time in the hot sun.
Closed Head Wrap
-
Lay the bandana flat. Fold one corner in so that the tip of the corner meets the dead center of the bandana. Pick up the bandana and put the folded part against your forehead. Pull the two corners on the side to the back of your head. (The front corner of the bandana will likely fall in your face during this step.) Tie the corners into a knot behind your head. Don't make the knot too tight, but make sure that the bandana won't slip off. Take the corner that has fallen down in front and pull it straight to the back of your head. Knot this piece with the already-knotted back pieces.

Arms and Legs
-
To add a stylish touch in an unexpected place, decorate your legs or arms with a bandana coordinated to the color of your outfit. Hold the bandana up by one corner so that it hangs down. Wrap it around your leg, right above your knee, or around your arm, right above your elbow. If you don't want the bandana to hang down loosely, fold it over itself to make a thinner band. If you want to wear a sweatband around your wrist to wipe your forehead during a workout, create a thick band: Fold the bandana once in half to create a triangle, then fold the wide side over itself a few times until you get the thickness you prefer. Wrap the bandana around your wrist, tie the corners into a knot and tuck the ends under the band to keep them out of the way during your workout.
Accessorize
-
Loop a bandana through a few of your belt loops on your pants to add an extra element to your outfit. Or, tie a colored bandana to your pocket book or backpack. Alternatively, use a large bandana to create a neckerchief scarf. Hold opposite corners and wrap the bandana around your neck, tying the corners in back so the front hangs down to form a v-shape. For a thinner neckerchief, fold the bandana over a few times to create a thin scarf.
