Chlorophyl Liquid & Uses
Chlorophyll is plants' equivalent to blood, and it is what gives plants their green color. Health benefits attributed to the use of chlorophyll in the diet include blood cleansing and overall body deodorizer; it is also used as a food colorant. Chlorophyll is known to alkalinize the body, thereby helping to create a more balanced pH level which is conducive to good health.

Liquid Chlorophyll Nutritional Supplement
-
Chlorophyll is found in every plant; the amount produced will vary according to individual species. As a nutritional supplement added to the diet, liquid chlorophyll can be consumed by the spoonful or added to a glass of water or fruit juice (diluting is recommended to prevent staining the teeth and tongue). It has very little flavor, so it is not overwhelming to the taste buds. Chlorophyll is rich in antioxidants commonly found in vegetables and fruit. Common sources of nutritional, liquid chlorophyll are barley grass, wheatgrass and microalgae plants such as spirulina, blue-green algae and chlorella. Liquid chlorophyll can be purchased at health food stores and is available from various manufacturers.
Chlorophyll as a Cancer Inhibitor
-
Chlorophyll is known to bind to cancer-causing chemical substances such as the heterocyclic amines found in cooked meats and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons found in tobacco smoke. By binding itself to these and other carcinogenic substances on a molecular level, chlorophyll helps to prevent their absorption into the body tissue; instead, any harmful substances are excreted out of the body. Chlorophyll has also been linked with assisting the body to heal from oxidative damage caused by radiation and harmful chemical exposure, and it may prevent further damage to the system through oxidation.

Deodorant and Breath Freshener
-
Chlorophyll can be taken internally to help prevent or treat bad smells such as body odor and bad breath. Lack of oxygen in the body can promote the growth of odor-causing bacteria; when the body's metabolism in not in balance it produces a strong odor as it rids itself of waste products. This can often happen during sickness or stressful situations during which digestion and metabolism do not work efficiently. Liquid chlorophyll supplements can be taken daily with meals (according to directions on the bottle) over a period of time to act as an ongoing deodorizer. Adding more chlorophyll to the diet in the form of dark green, leafy vegetables can also be beneficial.
Blood Cleansing Properties
-
As well as cleansing the intestines by inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria and aiding in the elimination of toxins, chlorophyll is also known to act as a blood cleanser by removing impurities and providing important nutrients that are circulated around the body -- via the blood -- that help repair cells damaged by exposure to harmful radiation or toxins. Adding liquid chlorophyll to the diet, with meals, may be beneficial in helping to prevent disease and maintaining a strong immune system better able to fight infection.
