How Cheaply Can You Remodel a Bathroom?
It's time to do something about that dingy bathroom. You don't enjoy using it, and it is certainly not contributing to the resale value of your home, should you choose to worry about selling your house someday. Fortunately, it is possible to remodel your bathroom on the cheap. Does this Spark an idea?

Fresh Coat
-
Grab a can or two of paint. For less than $40, you can completely recreate the look of the space. Find inspiration in the tile and floor colors or any other standout elements. If matchy-matchy is not your thing, opt for a neutral shade. Gray, beige and white always work.
Tiles that Pop
-
Retile your backsplash. If you have the do-it-yourself skills, you can tackle the project in a weekend for less than $100, depending on the type of tiles you choose. Ceramic and porcelain are the go-to budget tile materials for the bath. If you can spend a few more bucks, try multidimensional recycled-glass tiles for a shimmery look.

Grown-up Shower Curtain
-
Buy a new shower curtain. You might not think this qualifies as a remodel, but you can tell your friends otherwise. Throw out that old moldy shower curtain and opt for a new version that features a supercool pattern. If that seems like a patch job to you, invest a little more to install glass doors along your bathroom and shower enclosure. The effect is sleeker, and it is more durable and easier to clean. It's very grown up.
Design Decoys
-
OK, you ran out of money that could have been used to replace that old toilet, sink or shower. But let's face it: That would cost thousands of dollars you don't have. But what you can control is the decor. Bring in a rug you have someplace else in your house. Put some scenery photos you took on vacation in frames from the dollar store and hang them on the wall. Keep your counters clear of clutter. Less is more.
