Multiplayer Chat Games
Multiplayer chat games are games that allow multiple players to participate in a game, working together in teams or against each other as opponents, while engaging in text or voice-based chat. These games are usually played over the Internet or on a gaming network. Multiplayer chat games come in many varieties, from free, hosted Flash games on gaming websites to massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs), which are like virtual worlds. The games can be accessed from personal computers, handheld gaming devices or dedicated gaming consoles.

The text is displayed to all other players in the same area.
Ridiculist
-
Ridiculist is a team trivia game that runs on an Internet relay chat (IRC) client. The game is hosted by a bot called Ribot. Players join one of two teams. The bot poses questions under a category heading. Players respond to the bot by typing their answers into the chat client. The bot chooses answers that match ten pre-selected answers from a database. The first player to match a pre-selected answer earns points for his team. Teammates are allowed to collaborate via chat to come up with answers. The first team to score thirty points wins the game.
