Make an original Valentine gift with Hershey's Kisses

We typically think of Hershey's Kisses as chocolate treats to enjoy when we want something sweet. Hershey's Kisses, however, don't always have to be eaten. They can be used in a decorative way to make special Valentine's Day gifts. Let somebody know how much you care about them by making a Valentine's Day gift out of Hershey's Kisses.

  1. Roses

    • You can make the buds to a chocolate rose by using craft glue to attach two Hershey's Kisses filled with caramel. The caramel kisses are festive because the foil is pink and red. Apply craft glue to the flat side of one Hershey's Kiss and attach the flat side of another Kiss to it. The two flat sides should be touching. Attach a wire to a pointy side of the rose bud. Cut out 4-inch pieces of plastic cellophane and wrap around each rose bud and secure with a small piece of tape. Add two or three artificial leaves to the bouquet and protect the bottom with florist tape. Tie a large ribbon around the bouquet for a festive touch.

    Kiss Caterpillar

    • A Kiss Caterpillar can be a great gift for children to attach to their Valentine's Day card. Take a green pipe cleaner and twist it all the way through. Apply craft glue to the bottom of one Kiss and attach to the front of the pipe cleaner for the head. Apply craft glue to the bottom of another Kiss and attach to the back of the pipe cleaner for the tail. Take four craft pom poms and glue two of them to the front of the caterpillar, directly behind the head for the front feet. Glue the other two pom poms to the back of the caterpillar in front of the tail for the back feet. Attach two small wiggly eyes to the head and cut off two small pieces of black pipe cleaner and glue to the top of the head for antennas.

    Checker Board

    • Create a decorative checker board by cutting a piece of white foam into a 9 x 9 piece. Take a pink piece of foam and cut out 32, 1 1/8-inch squares. Glue the pink squares onto the white foam, placing them down like a checker board. Every other square should be pink. Take a red piece of foam and cut out 10, 1-inch Xs and 10, 1-inch Os. Use craft glue to glue one Hershey's Hug onto each O and one Hershey's Kiss onto each X.

    Candy Bags

    • Give a bag of Hershey's Kisses as a festive Valentine's gift. Take a clear party bag and fill with caramel-filled Hershey's Kisses with pink and red foil. Fill the bag almost to the top, and twist the excess piece of the bag so it is sealed and secure with a red bow.
