White Prom Themes
Coming up with a prom theme is part of the fun with proms. Proms revolve around a theme that dictates how the decorations will look and the guests will dress. White prom themes can be elegant and classical, vintage or whimsical, depending on what type of theme the school goes for. Select a theme and use your imagination to come up with some unique ideas.

Black & White Theme
-
Use the colors black and white to create a prom theme. Decorate the entire room using black and white colors. This includes black and white balloons, tissue paper, candles and crepe paper. Cover the tables with white sheets and decorate them with a vase of black and white flowers. Guests dress in black and white as well; have the boys dress in black and the girls in white or vice versa. Serve black and white food, such as cake and milk, or add food coloring to your favorite foods to fit it to the black and white theme.
Beach Theme
-
During the summer months at the beach, many people wear white to keep cool. White is a beachy color and perfect for a prom theme. Boys dress in loose white pants and buttoned shirt, while girls wear white summer dresses. Add a hint of color with summer flowers as centerpieces and flowers in the girls' hair. Place an emphasis on the beach theme by including sand in your decoration and featuring beach foods such as burgers and hot dogs.

Old Hollywood Theme
-
One of the most famous photos of Marilyn Monroe is of her in a white, billowing dress. White is a color associated with old Hollywood, hence the black and white movies of the past. Boys and girls dress in old Hollywood attire such as vintage black and white tuxedos and the girls dress in feathered caps, boas and cocktail dresses with their hair curled. Dress up the event with black and white napkins, balloons and tissue paper.
All-White Theme
-
It may be difficult to achieve an all-white prom, but all it takes is a little creativity and imagination. Use food coloring in food or serve white food such as potatoes and chicken. Cover the chairs with white chair covers, place white sheets over the tables and use white napkins, balloons and tissue paper in the decoration. Emphasize color, if you want, by selecting a color and showing subtle hints of it. The all-white theme will make any touch of color pop out visually.
