Princess Dress Up Party Ideas
A princess party works well for preschool aged girls or even for older girls who still dream of becoming a princess. Choose to focus the party on the princess from the little girl's favorite story or throw a generalized princess party. Encourage adult attendees to dress up as knights or ladies of the court to make the party fun for all. Play princess-themed games and serve food a princess would eat to complete the party. Does this Spark an idea?

Costuming
-
Tell guests to come dressed as their favorite princesses or as a character from a story about a princess. Keep in mind that some girls won't have a princess costume or aren't into dress up, so have a few extra princess or other character's dress-up costumes on hand for them to wear. Be accepting of guests who arrive dressed up in a creative fashion. Some guests may want to be doggy princesses or the cat of a princess instead of an actual princess.
Princess Accessories
-
Guests can make their own tiaras during the course of the party. Get unadorned plastic tiaras from a craft store or cut out the shape of a tiara from paper. Let guests decorate the crowns with stick-on gems, glitter, paint or markers. Let the glue dry on the tiaras during the party, then place each on the guests' heads as they leave. Decorate princess wands to if you're throwing a fairy princess party.

Games
-
Use princesses from fairy tales and movies as inspiration to create princess-themed games. For example, play Glass Slipper. Find a clear plastic shoe and have each of guests try it on. The guest that fits into the shoe best will win a prize or the shoe. The prize doesn't have to be the prince's hand in marriage. To be fair, get two shoes, one small and one large. Instead of pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey, play a game of pin-the-kiss-on-the-frog. Have a princess dance-off or a contest to see which of the guests can feel the pea under a stack of pillows.
Princess Treats
-
Dainty, pastel cupcakes are the perfect treat at a princess party. Decorate the cupcakes with pink sugar or silver dragees. Make cookie wands by sliding heart or star shaped frosted sugar cookies onto wooden skewers. Tie ribbon around the skewers at the base of the cookies. Cut sandwiches out with star or castle shaped cookie cutters. Serve other foods suitable for a princess, such as strawberries or pizza. Dress even the most basic foods up by serving them on shiny trays and fancy plates.
