Meals for Slumber Parties
Slumber parties mean a number of children at your home overnight, running around and having a fun time. You're going to have to feed them at some point. Usually, a sleepover includes breakfast the next morning, if not dinner the night before. You may have to make room for a midnight snack as well. Does this Spark an idea?

Dinner
-
Keep dinner simple at a slumber party. A Tex-Mex dinner will work well. Set out hard and soft taco shells, meat and beans, shredded lettuce, cheese and other taco fillings so guests can assemble their own. Have a quesadilla station, where guests can request toppings, such as chicken or broccoli, while an adult prepares the quesadillas. Set out guacamole and salsa with tortilla chips as well. Other dinner options include customized grilled cheese sandwiches. Let guests choose their bread type, cheese and any toppings, such as ham or tomatoes.
Desserts
-
At a slumber party, dessert counts as a meal. For serving ease, make cupcakes instead of a large cake for a birthday slumber party. Set up an ice cream sundae bar. Scoop ice cream into bowls, then set out cherries, a can of whipped cream, caramel and chocolate sauce and other toppings for guests to put on their sundaes. Skip the cake and ice cream if you'd prefer and serve simple, hand-held desserts such as cookies and brownies.

Late Night Snack
-
Odds are, the guests will get hungry as the clock creeps towards midnight. Keep the salsa and chips at the ready from dinner and prepare some popcorn in advance. Make simple sandwiches, such as peanut butter and jelly or cheese and ham and use cookie cutters to cut them into fun shapes. Star and crescent moon shapes are perfect for a midnight slumber party snack. To make things a bit more healthy, also offer raw vegetables such as baby carrots and celery sticks with dip.
Breakfast or Brunch
-
Brunch or breakfast may be the star meal of the slumber party. Choose one main breakfast food and offer guests a wide range of variations on it. For example, serve pancakes, but give guests the option of having blueberry, strawberry or chocolate chip. If you have a waffle maker, prepare a batch of waffles and let guests top them as they wish. Have an adult prepare omelets or scrambled eggs for a more protein-packed breakfast. Let guests pick their own toppings.
