Different Welding Rods
Welding is the most efficient and economical way to fuse two pieces of metal together. This is done by adding molten material to the joint between two pieces to coalesce. A common type of welder is called a stick welder, named because of the welding sticks, or welding rods, that are required to weld. There are various types of different welding rods for different metals.

Steel Welding Rods
-
Steel welding rods are the most common type, because steel is the most common metal fused for industrial and recreational use. You can find many different steel rods to meet the needs of your particular application, from low alloy steel to stainless steel.
Bronze Welding Rods
-
Where brazing of metals is necessary for a more seamless connection, bronze welding rods are available. These rods will join copper, bronze and brass parts. This is commonly used for increased resistance to salt water corrosion.

Aluminum Welding Rods
-
Aluminum welding rods allow the fusing of aluminum together. Although there are many different types of alloy aluminum mixes, these rods can fuse them all together seamlessly.
Composite Welding Rods
-
Advances in technology have given us the advent of composite welding rods. These allow possible methods of welding that were previously unattainable. Composite rods contain a mixture of different alloy metals, and will allow the fusing of two distinctly different metals through this technology.
