Ideas for Fashion Photography Pictures
Fashion photography is more than just shooting pictures; it is a delicate art that requires planning, careful thought and a quick mind. Following several tried-and true strategies can help any aspiring fashion photographer become better at his craft.
-
Research and Plan
-
Before doing a shoot, thoroughly research the type of fashion that will be on display. If possible, obtain a copy of the showing schedule -- in what order items will be shown -- so you can plan the proper shots. Decide which designs should be closeups, which should be fully-body shots and which should be a combination of both.
Positioning
-
If possible, find a spot to shoot from that will work for all your shots. Look for a location with good lighting and plenty of space, where you can zoom in and out with your camera. Positioning is key. But also don't be afraid to move around, if necessary. Once you find a sweet spot, camp out for a while until you get a few great pictures.

Capturing Poses
-
Fashion models are trained to stop and assume particular poses that show off a particular aspect of the garment being displayed. These poses are the essential shots you should be capturing. Don't worry as much about action shots during a photo shoot as poses. Poses show off the fashions on display.
Supplies
-
Remember to take extra supplies to your shoot. Running out of battery power or memory doesn't look good. If you notice you are getting low on something, wait for a break in the show to replenish your supply. Bring a spare camera in the event of an unforeseen problem or mishap.
