Flowers For Wedding Decorations
Whether you're spending $50 or $2,000, choosing the right flowers for your wedding can be one of your most difficult decisions. The realm of flowers can be overwhelming and confusing, so breaking it down by season can make choosing the right colors and style a lot easier. It is also more cost-effective, as prices are based on availability, and locally grown seasonal flowers are cheaper than imported flowers.

Spring
-
Spring is best represented by softer colors like pastels. Without being tacky, it is easy to incorporate the light shades of spring into beautiful floral designs that ooze love and romance. Classic spring flowers in season include apple or cherry blossoms, daffodils, magnolias, forsythia branches, hyacinth, iris, larkspur, gardenias, lilies (especially Easter lilies), lilacs, hydrangeas, lily of the valley, pansies, peonies, and tulips. Choose a couple of these to complement the atmosphere.
Summer
-
For a season with a high number of weddings, summer also has an abundant amount of blooms to choose for each unique taste. Some flowers that bloom in the summer are mums, calla lilies, dahlias, daisies, geraniums, hydrangeas, irises, Jacob's ladder, larkspur, Queen Anne's lace, roses, shasta daisies, sunflowers and zinnias. For a bright and cheerful summer theme, use blooms like roses, peonies and sunflowers. If you want a more breezy feel, go with whites blooms like daisies, calla lilies and white roses.

Fall
-
Fall flowers include asters, chrysanthemums, zinnias, gerber daisies, marigolds, roses, sunflowers, and montbretia. The rich colors of these blooms complement the oranges, reds and yellows of the fallen leaves. To truly capture the autumn theme, consider something different like scattering flower petals around the table centerpieces to create an elegant and authentic feel.
Winter
-
To capture the feel of a winter wedding, use deep reds and greens in your arrangements. Also, pay special attention to the bouquet as it is often the focal point. Consider tying the stems in a red or green velvet, or use ivy in the bouquet. Traditional seasonal flowers include amaryllis, stephanotis, camellias, forget-me-not, jasmine, orchids, poinsettias and holly. Poinsettias make inexpensive centerpieces and add a truly Christmas feel.
