Food Stuffs
-
Give your sweetheart a sweets-themed Easter basket. For example, bake cookies in the shape of traditional Easter items, such as baskets, eggs or bunnies, and decorate them with pastel frosting to represent spring colors. Before putting the cookies in the oven, place either a wooden skewer or other oven-safe item into the center of each cookie so it resembles a lollipop. Once decorated, stand several of the cookie pops upright in the grass of the Easter basket. Fill the rest of the basket with a variety of jelly beans, chocolate cream-filled eggs, candy bars, chocolate bunnies and marshmallow candies.
Media, Gift Cards and Electronics
-
Fill the Easter basket with media items such as CDs and DVDs. Gift cards to the recipient's favorite stores and electronic items like MP3 players, portable movie players or even a cell phone are original ideas. Include a pair of headphones and a carrying case if you include an MP3 player. Items like USB ports for the easy transportation of information, portable Web cams, e-reading devices, portable hard drives, cameras and GPS navigation systems are all novel ideas.

Gardening Items
-
Stock an Easter basket with gardening items for the gardener in your life. Since Easter is a spring holiday, these items are especially useful in welcoming the season. For a diverse complement of gifts, include both flower bulbs and vegetable seeds in the basket. "Plant" these items in green grass set inside the Easter basket as a creative touch. You can also include a small hand rake, trowel, pair of gardening gloves, a knee-rest cushion and even a visor. If your gardener only has a small area in which to garden, add a twist to her basket by using a large planter as the "basket."
Kids' Activities
-
Furnish a child's Easter basket with kid-friendly entertainment options like activity books that contain mazes, word searches and crossword puzzles, markers, popular children's books and brain teasers. Stickers and sticker books, card games, sidewalk chalk, travel board games and bubbles are all possibilities. Knitting activities, jewelry-creating kits, woodburning kits, weaving looms and paint-by-numbers activities are all non-traditional Easter basket items that will keeps kids busy for hours.
