The program generally begins with two years of such general education courses as English, natural sciences, social sciences and philosophy.     • More experience equals higher salaries. New employees make a median $35,668 per year, and those with one year to four years of work experience get $42,056. At five to nine years of employment, they earn $53,748, and at 10 to 19 years, they receive $64,100. Finally, after 20 or more years of experience, they top out at $74,905.

    Certification

    • Certifications are documented proof of additional expertise for a bachelor or business administration. They thus grant higher salaries. The highest paying of these is project management professional, which shows the ability to manage budgets, schedules, staff and materials necessary to complete complex tasks. This knowledge grants a median $95,000 per year. A Microsoft Certified Professional knows how to handle Microsoft software and earns $60,124 yearly. Teacher certification indicates training in imparting skills and information to others, and pays $41,794 annually.

    • The employers with the highest pay for people with bachelors of business administration are hospitals, where mean salaries run $58,421 per year. Compare this with those in regular companies who make $55,697, or those who are self-employed, who get $46,200. The latter's wages are lower because they must spend uncompensated time looking for work. The federal government offers $54,805 while state and local jurisdictions pay $51,325. Those in schools earn $39,546, and those who work for colleges get $52,458.
