Spice & Persimmon Wedding Colors
Spice and persimmon colors encompass a range of shades, largely focusing on oranges, reds, browns and yellows. Being colors very much associated with the fall, spice and persimmon are ideal colors for fall weddings. The colors in spice and persimmon color palettes are warm, rich and inviting. There are a number of ways to incorporate spice and persimmon colors into a wedding day.

Flowers
-
The flowers at a wedding range from the bridal bouquet, the bridesmaids' flowers and the men's buttonholes, to those used as table and venue decorations. Use flowers such as orange calla lilies, which look stunning draped on the bride's arm with some green foliage, and orange roses, which add a touch of the unusual. Add red berries to flower arrangements to make another autumnal touch to the flowers. Burnt orange wildflowers also fit in perfectly, while yellow acacias or forsythia bring in some of the lighter tones to balance the deep, rich colors.
Clothes
-
Add a splash of color to the bride's dress to continue the theme by tying a band of colored cloth around the waist, or incorporate a colored hairband or flower to the hair. Use the bridesmaids' dresses to make greater use of the spice and persimmon color theme by making the whole dresses from the spice and persimmon color palettes. Each one could even be made in a different shade from the palette to introduce the range of rich and luscious colors represented in the theme. The groom should wear a waistcoat and bow tie from the color scheme, and his groomsmen should wear bow ties or ties to match.

Textiles
-
Use thick, cozy fabrics in spice and persimmon shades to reinforce the theme. In the wedding reception, for example, use thick drapes in reds, oranges and browns to cover the windows when it gets dark. Have rugs or throws in the same colors scattered around to create that cozy, autumnal feel. Cover the backs of the chairs in soft velvet covers and use an equally sumptuous tablecloth on the wedding cake table. Matched against dark wood furniture in particular, the lasting effect is warm and intimate.
Food
-
The food should match the autumnal, rich theme of the wedding. Choose a red meat dish with a rich, red wine gravy and vegetable dishes of roasted tomatoes and butternut squash. Pumpkin soup and honey glazed roasted potatoes also go well. You could even use persimmon fruits in the dessert. Don't go overboard by choosing every food by its color, but make some careful choices to firmly establish the mood of the wedding in guests' minds. Tie appropriately colored ribbons around the edge of the wedding cake, or scatter some burnt orange flower petals on the cake.
Lighting
-
Lighting a spice and persimmon-colored wedding is easily achieved because the warm hues of the color scheme are only made warmer by carefully chosen lighting. Place candles on the tables to create a soft effect on the décor and peoples' faces; the flicker created when the flame moves will add to the already intimate surroundings. Have a log fire at the venue, or a bonfire and tiki lights if you have an outside area. The key is to choose soft, natural lighting that is not too bright or harsh.
