Unique fund raising events give the attending audience something new and fun to look forward to, while helping out a cause they care about. While traditional events are quite beneficial, the unique idea gives more opportunity for advertising the event, and bringing out attendants that are not interested in bake sales, car washes and the like.

Holiday Fundraising Ideas

Putting a spin on a holiday can easily give great ideas for a fundraiser. Take and sell Easter pictures with the Easter bunny. Raffle off Easter baskets and hold egg hunts that people can enter for a fee that is donated to charity.
Halloween is another holiday with fund-raising potential. A charity can hold a pumpkin sale if they can get a large supply of pumpkins donated. They can also sell apple cider, doughnuts and other autumn-related goods.

Local fast food companies are often willing to work with a charity to donate a portion of sales from an evening. The fund-raising group advertises the event and for all of the receipts collected, the company will donate a percentage of sales. Some companies will donate a percentage of sales without having to collect receipts. Contact popular restaurants to see if they are interested in a similar promotion to help local groups.

Rubber Duck Race

Similar to a sailboat race fund-raiser, participants adopt rubber ducks for a fee and the ducks are set free to "race" down a waterway. Use a waterway with a decent current that allows for each pick up and cleaning of the ducks after the race. Sell related items such as photos with the adopted ducks, duck race t-shirts, and duck-shaped baked goods with drinks as another form of income from the event.

This singing competition allows those involved to show off their singing talents, while they are raising money for a cause. Attendants will donate a fee for being in the audience and winners can get a small prize for their participation. Concession items that are sold will bring in further income for the cause.
Break the Balloon

At this event, participants will donate money to get access to balloons that may or may not hold prizes or slips for prizes inside. Winning slips are turned in for prizes and losing slips can be put into a lottery for other gifts. The fun is in breaking the balloons to see what prize is won. Concession items are helpful in increasing income from the event.
