All Together Now

Karaoke machines can be enjoyed by one person, but including the entire room is a whole different experience. The key to this game is choosing a song everyone already knows the words to. Those who don't can use the teleprompter as a guide. The purpose of this game is to have everyone singing at once, either throughout the entire song or during different portions of the song. For example, the main person can sing the verses, and the group can sing the chorus. Smaller groups can be constructed, and each group can be assigned a portion of the song to sing. Numerous songs can be sung during the course of this karaoke party game. This game can also be used to loosen everyone up, making them more comfortable within the world of karaoke.
Make It Original
-
Often times, people make up their own words to their favorite songs, simply because they forgot the original words or they feel their version is better. Regardless of why, a karaoke game can be constructed out of this. Simply turn off the teleprompter so that the original words are hidden. Over the musical track, have guests make up their own words. Have a contest to see who made up the best words to the song.

Lose Yourself
-
The beauty about karaoke is that anybody -- depending on shyness level -- can do it. However, sometimes games can be created by becoming someone else. For example, party goers can try their best to impersonate their favorite singers while other guests rate their performance. For added flair, have the guests create costumes depicting the singer they are attempting to impersonate. For example, don't just sing like John Lennon, dress up like him. Contestants will not only be judged on their singing ability, but their overall look as well.
Musical Memory
-
Anybody can sing along to a song if the words are right in front of them, but things become more difficult when the lyrics vanish. For this game, have a contestant choose a song she feels she knows by heart. Halfway through the song, turn off the teleprompter. The contestant must sing the rest of the song by memory. When she finishes, she will be judged according to how close she got to the original lyrics. The teleprompter can also be turned off for the entire song, forcing the contestant to sing from memory alone.
