Decoration Ideas for Wedding Venues in Fall or Autumn
Crisp autumn leaves, apple cider and cuddling by a cozy fire inspire romance for many people. If you're getting married in the fall, incorporate elements of autumn into the decorations for your wedding venue. Choose colors reminiscent of fall leaves such as burnt orange, crimson, and golden yellow, along with a neutral earth tone. Natural elements are perfect for fall-themed affairs; not only will they add color and cheer, but they also can be sophisticated and chic.

Pumkins are a versatile decorating item. Use natural elements to your advantage at your wedding venue. Place large pumpkins around the room and tie wide ribbon around bunches of wheat or straw, which you can either set in large planters or lean against the walls. Hollow out the pumpkins first and place bouquets in the tops for a lovely effect, or, for a more rustic look, place bales of hay in the foyer and around the entrance to the venue. Other fall fruits and plants such as acorns, apples and squash can also be scattered in various places around the room.

For the linens on your serving tables, find tablecloths with a fall pattern in your wedding colors. You can also buy beige tablecloths and use fabric paints to create your own autumn leaf pattern. Cut out leaf shapes from regular sponges to sponge paint the tablecloths and napkins. Use a variety of leaf shapes and colors in the pattern. Repeat whatever motif is in the pattern elsewhere at the venue; for example, if you use cornstalk-patterned linens, have some actual cornstalks in bundles around the room, too.

Adorn your reception hall tables with fall-themed centerpieces. For a simple, yet elegant centerpiece, arrange three candles of varying sizes and colors surrounded by a scattering of silk leaves. You can also fill a glass container with autumn items such as walnuts and pine cones. A small basket filled with fall flowers or gourds can make an attractive focal point for a table setting. Tie ribbons in your wedding colors around the containers or baskets.

Add a splash of color to a bland wall with a fall wreath. Walls can be difficult to spruce up, particularly if they are expansive, but long faux vines draped in swags can add a festive feel to any venue. Intertwine a fall ribbon or a few silk flowers and leaves with the vines for more color. Bare wreaths of twigs or straw can be hung as they are, wrapped with ribbon or embellished with leaves and acorns. Strands of white lights are an elegant decoration, but be sure they coordinate with the rest of your décor; you might be better off with strands of yellow or orange lights, which are harder to find.
