John Deere Cake Decorating Ideas
John Deere is an iconic American brand and many folks love the logo and the hard-working country identity connected to the brand. If you or a friend or family member loves John Deere collectibles and equipment, designing a cake to reflect the brand can be a fun addition to a celebration. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Tractor Cake
-
Buy a mold from a specialty baking supply store or assemble a tractor from two loaf cakes. If you purchase a cake mold, simply follow the directions for baking the cake and frost it using John Deere colors. If you choose to assemble the cake yourself, use one loaf as the engine and a second loaf, stood on end, as the driver's compartment. You can attach chocolate frosted doughnuts in lieu of wheels.
Farm Diorama
-
Bake a traditional sheet cake, then add frosting and top the frosting with pulverized Oreo cookie crumbs. The Oreos will look just like dirt. You can add a tractor toy to the top of the cake to look like a real farm at work. As a bonus, the cake topper can be kept as a toy for the lucky birthday boy or girl.

Cupcakes
-
Frost cupcakes in green and yellow and purchase toy tractors to place on top of each one. You can use different John Deere tractor models for variety. For some of the cupcakes, you might choose to frost them with the logo, instead.
Ol' MacDonald Cake
-
Frost a cake with a smiling farmer on it. Add John Deere touches to his hat and decorate the sides of the cake with green and yellow tractors and John Deere logos. This is a much easier way to avoid having to buy an expensive specialty cake pan, with much the same results. The cartoonish farmer character is an easy to decorate shape that is less technical than a tractor.
