Ideas to Paint Nurseries
Paint the walls with a cascade of rainbow colors to suit a boy or girl or select one or two colors to work with if you want a more modern look. Decide if you want to work with pastel shades or dramatic dark hues. While pastels are popular, your child won't outgrow the room so quickly if you stick with other colors. Pick a background color, then use your imagination to add a theme. Does this Spark an idea?

Wall of Polka Dots
-
Polka dots work well for a boy or a girl. Paint the walls a background color like pink, purple, blue or yellow and leave the ceiling white. Once the main color is dry, you can start getting creative with polka dots. Choose three or more colors. Create one main dot size and paint the dots all over the room in random places or create a sea of dots that flows together on the center of the wall and pans around the entire room. You can also let the first set of dots dry and then use a different color to paint a second dot inside the first dot.
Baby Birds
-
Create a baby bird paradise in your little girl's nursery. Paint the walls purple or pink depending on your color preferences. Once the background is dry, paint a tree one of the walls and adorn the tree with pink and purple flowers along with a birds nest and baby birds. Paint grass blades on the bottom border of the room and then paint tiny baby birds walking around in the grass. This idea can also work for a baby boy's room. Just paint the background walls blue or yellow instead of pink.

Blue Room with Turtle Border
-
Create a turtle room for your baby boy. Paint all the walls pastel blue and leave the ceiling white. Once the background color is dry, paint green turtles along the top border of the room. Use stencils to trace a turtle shape with a pencil before painting or paint freehand so that each turtle is unique. After the green paint is dry, use black paint to paint eyes and additional features on your turtles.
Purple Room with Baby Lambs
-
Create a lamb-themed room for a baby girl. Paint the walls purple and leave the ceiling white. Paint green grass blades along the bottom border of the entire room. Include trees, plants and other designs on the walls as well. Then paint three baby lambs together on one of the walls. You can paint all the lambs standing up or paint one lamb standing while the other two are lying down. If art is not your strong suit, hire an artist to make your dream come alive.
